She is quiet truthfully a pain in the ass.
A pain in the ass.
You have to MAKE this horse work and it fights you every step of the way. Walk, trot, canter, backing up. This mare does not want to work. Which works me more and that's fine but id rather not fight for forty five mins to have things go my way. So yes she frustrates me, I kept my cool while working her and riding but after just ugh.
I also looked at a 16.2-16.3hh AQHA mare today, she is tb bred and her conformation shows that. She is not running down hill and is not stocky, she also has a thoroughbred head. She has beautiful elastic movement, stretches nicely and hasn't been worked in a while, it shows. That isn't an issue, I am not worried about building on the basics to get a horse where I want it, iv done it, it just takes time. Her original training was aqha hunter but she was not shown after purchased by her current owner. She does ride English and western. Frankly I don't want to put a 70lb western saddle that high in the air, so I think id ride her English or in my stock saddle.
I am not really looking for a quarter horse though, Iv had two in the past and while they were good horses, I am not sure.
